This official app is free. Gemini gives you direct access to Google’s best family of AI models on your phone so you can:

- Use text, voice, photos and your camera to get help in new ways

If you have access to Gemini Pro it will be right here in the Gemini app.
The Gemini app is now live in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and more languages. See the full list of supported languages and countries here:

If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet — including controlling media and routines. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.

The app itself is glitching lately; it's been skipping to a new chat and forgetting everything. Sometimes I can tell it to remember what we were just talking about, and it will get back to the subject. Other times, the chat is completely gone, and there is no memory of the chat left in the list. Reaction times have gone from normal response times to wondering if my phone is frozen in the last few weeks. There are times I almost reached a conclusion, but I can't get any further due to glitches.

On my year old Galaxy A34, the Gemini app can not open and display websites for me, or open my email with a drafted letter it's created. Checking the settings, it says No Permissions Required. Notifications are blocked, and the unblock button is greyed out. so I can't change the setting. However, my old Huawei Pro 20 CAN open my email and display the letter it's drafted for me. But only I can send it. It can also open and display websites for me. Dialling numbers for me, find videos faster.

AI searches are great. But this is an absolute nightmare for navigation needs after a "hey google" trigger. The previous Google assistant immediately opened Google maps if given a command like "take me home" or "take me to work". Meanwhile this thing reads an essay about the distance and time to get there. Just show me the navigation, for heavens sake! The voice trigger is there so we can operate hands free, which is extra important when driving!
